Radial Shockwave Therapy
Radial Shockwave Therapy is a cutting edge technology proven to increase the rate of healing for soft tissue tendinopathy. It is an advanced, non-surgical, non-invasive and highly effective treatment method that enhances blood circulation and accelerates the healing process causing damaged tissue to gradually regenerate.
What conditions can be treated with RSWT?
Plantar Fasciitis
Achilles Tendinitis (or other tendinopathies)
Morton’s neuroma
Diabetic Neuropathy
Wound Healing
Ankle Sprains
Plantar Plate Tears
And More!
How does RSWT work?
The ballistic sound waves of the therapy penetrate deep through your soft tissue, causing a microtrauma or new inflammatory condition to the treated area. This triggers your body's natural healing response to restart. The energy emitted helps to stimulate blood flow, break down scar tissue, and promote tissue regeneration. It also helps reduce pain by affecting nerve endings and inflammatory processes.
How many treatments do I need and how long is each session?
It is administered once a week for a series of 5 treatments. Each treatment takes approximately 6 minutes depending on the size and number of areas treated.
What do studies show?
There have been extensive studies done on Radial Shockwave Therapy over the past 23 years. These studies show an average of 85% success rate.

What are the possible side effects? Is it painful?
There have been very few side effects reported. In rare cases, skin bruising, redness, or swelling may occur. Patients may also feel slight discomfort like a bruise or soreness in the area for a day or two afterward, similar to a strenuous workout. Even more rare, temporary numbness or tingling may occur. The treatment itself may have mild discomfort, but should overall not be painful.
Are there contraindications?
The only contraindication is prescription blood thinners. It is safe for everyone else, including those who are pregnant.
As it works by creating a new inflammatory condition, you are asked to avoid anti-inflammatories and icing during treatment.
Is it covered by my Insurance?
No, RSWT is not covered by insurance plans. We charge $600 for the total set of 5 treatments. If you choose to pay for each session individually, single treatments cost $150 per session. If you have a bilateral condition, we will offer 5 treatments for each foot to be done at the same time for $1000.
